We're so excited you're considering Tails of Terra Linda Pet Resort to care for your furry family member!

Our goal is to provide a safe, clean, and enriching "home away from home" where your pet can relax, play, and feel loved while you're away.

This page will guide you through everything you need to know before your pet's first visit, from registration to what to expect during their stay.

Your Pet's First Visit

We understand that leaving your pet somewhere new can feel overwhelming. That's why our team is here to make the process simple, transparent, and stress-free—for both you and your pet.

From their first evaluation to their stay, every pet is carefully monitored and placed in the best environment for their personality and needs.

Follow the steps below to get started!

Getting Started – Registration & Requirements

Before scheduling any services, we require:

  • Completed New Client Forms & Agreements
  • Up-to-date vaccination records
  • Approval of your pet's eligibility for services

Vaccination Requirements

Dogs must be current on:

  • DAPP
  • Rabies
  • Canine Influenza
  • Bordetella (every 6 months)
  • Fecal testing (every 6 months)

Cats must be current on:

  • FVRCP
  • Rabies
  • A negative FeLV test (for free roam access)

All pets must be healthy and parasite-free before arrival.

Temperament Evaluation (Required for Dogs)

Before participating in daycare or group play, all dogs must complete a temperament assessment.

  • Cost: $55
  • Includes a half-day of daycare
  • Helps determine safe playgroup placement

Evaluations ensure your dog is comfortable, social, and matched with the right group based on size, personality, and energy level.

Evaluations are scheduled on select days — our team will help coordinate after registration is complete.

Book Your Pet's Stay

Once your account and evaluation are complete, you can request:

  • Daycare
  • Boarding
  • Grooming Services

Important Booking Notes:

  • Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during busy seasons
  • Holiday periods may have limited availability
  • Online booking may not reflect real-time capacity — confirmation is required

Your Pet’s Stay: What to Expect

From the moment your pet arrives, they’ll be welcomed with care and attention by our trained team 

Daycare Guests:

  1. Supervised group play based on temperament

  2. Separate play areas for different sizes and energy levels

  3. Continuous monitoring for safety

Boarding Guests:

  1. Comfortable, clean accommodations

  2. Daily exercise and enrichment

  3. Fresh water, bedding, and personalized care

Pets staying 5+ nights even receive a complimentary bath before going home!

What to and NOT to Bring:

To help your pet feel at home, we recommend bringing:

  1. Pre-portioned food (labeled)

  2. Medications (in original containers with instructions)

  3. Favorite blanket or toy

  4. Collar and leash

X Not allowed: Rawhides, bully sticks, or similar items

If food is not provided, we will supply a high-quality alternative for your pet.

Playgroups & Personalized Care:

  1. Dogs must pass their evaluation to join group play

  2. Playgroups are assigned based on size and temperament

  3. Dogs who prefer individual care may be placed in our Personal Care Program

Additional care services may apply depending on your pet’s needs.

After your pet's first visit, they officially become part of the Tails of Terra Linda Pet Resort family!
